why "artemis?"
in greek mythology, artemis was the goddess of the wilderness and wild animals. her roman counterpart was diana, also the goddess of the moon. among the epithets given artemis was cynthia
(taken from her birthplace on mount cynthus).
my greatest passion throughout life has been for animals, and i've always felt an unquestionable connection to the full moon. my given name is cynthia, and my mother's name is diane. and so the circle is complete.
